WiFi - Wireless Fidelity
Wireless Fidelity is a brand, originally licensed by the Wi-Fi Alliance to describe the underlying technology of wireless local area networks (WLAN). A person with a WiFi device can connect to the internet or Local area network using an access point, provided that the device should be in the range of that Wireless access point. Wireless access point (WAP) connects a group of wireless devices to an adjacent wired LAN.
CDMA - Code Division Multiple Access
Code Division Multiple Access, a digital cellular technology that uses spread-spectrum techniques and a special coding scheme (where each transmitter is assigned a code) to allow multiple access. With the help of Multiple access several signals can be multiplexed over the same physical channel.
Each user in a CDMA system uses a different pseudo-random digital sequence to modulate their signal. As it uses spread spectrum technique, so the modulated signal has a much higher data bandwidth than the data being communicated.
Categories Of CDMA :-
- Synchronous (orthogonal codes) and
- Asynchronous (pseudorandom codes)
