On behalf of my respected sir Mr. Ritesh Sachan, allow me to give my views on distance learning.
Well, many of us call distance learning programs as correspondence course as well. In some areas people refer distance learning similar to private courses.
Basically, distance learning is a mode of education in which students need not to attend their classes in regular basis. Of course they have to appear in their exams and their result depends upon their marks secured by them. Now a days, there are a big number of institutions which offer distance learning programs. For a quick example, Global Institute of Management & Technology (GIMT) is a well known name in Delhi NCR for distance education needs. You can check the details at www.gimtnoida.net.
More examples are SMU , PTU & other such distance education centers.
They provide distance education in various streams. A most common course is MBA (Master of Business Administration). However one may go with simple graduation, post graduation or any other program. People generally prefer the distance education because of shortage of time (may be because of job or some other work they are engaged with).
Some more courses fall under the same category although they are not provided in distance mode. For example, Polytechnic Diploma, B.Tech & M.Tech, etc.
For all the technical courses, the suitable medium is either regular mode or part-time mode.
Various universities allow/authorise the study centres to conduct their examinations. I guess, this post will be marked as useful from most of the readers. All the critics and suggestions will be highly appreciated.
Also you can call me at 08882844555, if, in case, you need to consult anything regarding the same.
Regards,
Abhimanyu.
